Summary
This opportunity is open to current career service DAJD employees of the Administrative Services Division only.
Please note: Effective January 1, 2026, the salary range for this position will be $51.69- 65.52 hourly.
The Department of Adult & Juvenile Detention (DAJD) is seeking an experienced Human Resource professional to join the team as a Senior Human Resource Analyst! This role will support employees and advise senior and executive leadership on complex human resource issues, initiatives, and policies, while managing a variety of complex HR functions.

Job Duties

Engage with and support employees, department managers, and supervisors by providing guidance and interpretation of employment law and human resources practices.
Develop and implement trainings for department managers and supervisors on a variety of human resources topics.
Create and implement department programs that support County-wide initiatives, including equity and social justice, continuous improvement, employee engagement, and employee development.
Perform other duties within the scope and level of responsibility.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Experience in core human resources operations with a proven ability to support the development, and implementation of strategic initiatives, policies, and programs; or a combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the capability to perform the responsibilities of the role at a senior level.
Demonstrated success advising senior and executive leadership on complex, high-impact human resources issues, organizational initiatives, and policy decisions.
Strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, providing expert guidance, and building strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
Exceptional ability to manage high-volume, competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, clarity, and strategic focus in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency and demonstrated expertise in the NEOGOV applicant tracking system.
Strong working knowledge and proficiency with PeopleSoft.

UNION MEMBERSHIP: This position is not represented by a collective bargaining agreement.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position will work a 40-hour work week and is overtime eligible (provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act). Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. This position is exempt under the provisions of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), meaning that it is not eligible for overtime pay or compensatory time accrual, and the incumbent will be required to work the hours necessary to meet position responsibilities.
WORK LOCATION: The work associated with this position will be performed through a hybrid work model that will require both onsite and remote work. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change.
The primary onsite work location for this position is the King County Courthouse at 516 3rd Avenue, E 245, Seattle WA 98104. However, candidates must be willing and able to report to work at different secured detention facilities in Seattle or Kent.
