Great Day Improvements - Senior Financial Accountant

As Senior Financial Accountant, you will coordinate and participate in the design, testing, implementation, and review of complex manual and automated financial and accounting systems and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for processing all payments and investigating discrepancies and refunds.
  • Oversee and maintain the credit card program by ordering and maintaining cardholders and balances.
  • Coordinate and ensure compliance with GL and credit card coding requirements.
  • Investigate and maintain lien compliance for collections with all states.
  • Review, analyze and prepare monthly journal entries for month end close related to general corporate accounting processes.
  • Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules.
  • Research variances and unusual items noted in the reconciliation process.
  • Recommend changes in accounting systems and procedures.
  • Complete month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely reporting.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Understand and explain variances to prior periods, forecast and plan for areas of responsibility.
  • Assist in identifying potential process improvements, documenting new policies and procedures, and contributing to sound internal control development.
  • Cross train as back-ups for other staff in the case of emergencies.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate Degree in accounting or finance.
  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience in a previous role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to take initiative and prioritize work.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong research, organizational and project management skills
  • Experience working in an environment requiring analytical response to a variety of business issues.
  • Highly organized and ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate with present information, both verbally and written effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
