Senior Exchange Engineer

REMOTE

Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage hybrid Exchange environments, integrating on-premises Exchange infrastructure with Exchange Online, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient communication channels.
  • Lead and execute end-to-end mailbox migrations from on-premises Exchange to Exchange Online, employing best practices and minimizing user impact during the transition process.
  • Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and security of the Exchange infrastructure, promptly identifying and resolving any issues or vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Exchange services with other Microsoft 365 components, such as Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform, to facilitate a comprehensive collaboration and productivity suite.
  • Manage Proofpoint email security solutions, including configuration, policy management, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide expertise and guidance in managing large-scale Exchange environments, including capacity planning, performance tuning, and implementing disaster recovery measures.
  • Work with multi-tenant environments, ensuring efficient and secure management of separate Exchange instances for multiple organizations.
  • Perform migrations, upgrades, and maintenance tasks for Exchange Server versions, including Exchange 2010, Exchange 2016, Exchange 2019, and Exchange Online.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, Exchange hybrid environments, Proofpoint, and email security, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Extensive experience managing hybrid Exchange environments, including the integration of on-premises Exchange infrastructure with Exchange Online.
  • Proven track record in executing successful mailbox migrations to Exchange Online, minimizing downtime and user impact during the transition.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 suite, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and associated security and compliance features.
  • In-depth knowledge of public folders, including administration, replacement, migration, and optimization for large-scale environments.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing projects, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience as a tech lead, providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Proficient in managing and troubleshooting large Exchange environments, including capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery measures.
  • Experience with Proofpoint email security solutions, including configuration and policy management.
  • Familiarity with multi-tenant environments and their unique requirements for Exchange administration.
  • Solid experience with Exchange Server versions, including Exchange 2010, Exchange 2016, Exchange 2019, and Exchange Online.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
