JOB DESCRIPTION:

OVERVIEW:

The Senior Director for Cybersecurity Operations is the senior leader responsible for enterprise security threat monitoring, and defense and response to a wide variety of cyber-attacks facing Tenet and its United Surgical Partners International (USPI), Conifer, and Tenet Physician Resources (TPR) business lines. This critical role ensures Tenet\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s ability to provide uninterrupted patient care and business operations through the Security Operations Center (SOC) that provides detection and response through Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) monitoring, investigations and Incident Response.

REPORTING STRUCTURE & WORK SETTING:

This position will be located at Tenet headquarters in Dallas, Texas. The position will report directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role will lead all aspects of the strategy, daily operations, and advancement of the Security Operations function and focus on proactive threat detection, prevention, response, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate stays connected with the evolving cyber threat landscape, has deep expertise in cyber industry best practices, and brings thought leadership to assist the CISO in developing and implementing a comprehensive security strategy.

This leader works collaboratively with business and technical teams at all levels of the organization to identify and remediate security risks.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Build and execute a Security Operations strategy that drives continuous capability improvements and supports business goals
  • Build, grow and mentor a high performing team
  • Continuous improvement and evaluation of detection and response capabilities and processes
  • Project and operational delivery in partnership with Cybersecurity Program functions, the Project Management Office (PMO), Financial Management Office (FMO), IT, business partners and third-party providers
  • Provide leadership and decision-making guidance and technical expertise to Security Operations teams
  • Lead and manage Tenet teams onshore and offshore and through third party Managed Security Providers and vendors
  • Develop effective relationships with third-party vendors and partners,
  • Keep up to date with emerging technologies, threats, risks, and industry trends to advise and recommend new or enhanced controls and approaches
REQUIRED SKILLS:

WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • 15+ years of relevant security experience (e.g., cyber detection and response operations, threat intelligence, incident response, forensics, penetration testing, vulnerability management, SIEM) with 10+ years of management experience
  • Experience leading responses to large scale cyber attacks and implementing technology and processes to detect and respond effectively to threats
  • One or more industry certificates is a plus such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, GCIH, GCTI
  • Experience recruiting and building out high performing security teams
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Working knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS 18 or other security frameworks
  • Ability to interact and negotiate across various departments
  • Excellent management and communication skills
  • Experience negotiating contracts and working with vendors
  • Experience with security incidents and forensic investigations
  • Knowledge of and experience with risk management and mitigation
