The Role

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional with a strong work ethic and a desire to a lead a fast-paced, results-driven Accounting and Reporting team. This position is responsible for complete ownership of SEC Reporting, Management Reporting, Corporate Accounting (including General Ledger, Intercompany, Cash Accounting, and Debt/Equity), and coordination of the monthly close cycle as well as management of a large team of accountants.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Fully own and manage three SEC registrants\' Quarterly and Annual Reports on Forms 10-Q and 10-K, including the XBRL process, as well as monthly internal management reporting package provided to executive leadership.
  • Manage the preparation of the quarterly earnings release and exhibits and associated filing (8-K).
  • Prepare quarterly financial reports to be presented to the Board of Directors.
  • Conduct accounting research on material issues affecting the Company and prepare accounting position memos on those issues.
  • Maintain corporate accounting and reporting policies and monitor recently issued guidance to identify whether updates or revisions are required.
  • Manage communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor alignment with company decisions on accounting disclosures and issues.
  • Oversee various accounting and reporting functions including: general ledger accounting (general ledger management, consolidation and elimination activities), debt accounting, equity accounting, cash accounting, intercompany accounting, cost allocations and unclaimed property reporting.
  • Lead a team of highly qualified and effective financial accounting professionals, by clearly defining company and departmental goals, driving accountability, and achieving results, and ensuring personnel receive continued training and development.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with both internal and external stakeholders to the organization, multi-task orientated.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial closing processes, including reporting, account reconciliations, and account analysis.
  • Prepare ad hoc internal and external reports and/or analysis as needed by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Support audit requests and deliverables for external, internal, and SOX auditors.
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • Extensive knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 12 years of total accounting experience with at least three years in a public company with a large ERP system.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of supervisory experience.
  • Thorough understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and application of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).
  • Ability to work in a complex environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision with a continuous improvement mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • Public accounting experience, Big-4 preferred.
  • Experience with SAP and complex consolidation software.
  • Experience in telecommunications or technology industries.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
