Stantec\'s Northeast Transportation team is seeking a highly qualified Senior Planner and Project Manager with expertise in climate resilience planning. You will lead and collaborate on a wide array of projects that are as technically challenging as they are impactful, creative, and fulfilling. You will contribute to a broad portfolio of resilience planning efforts including but not limited to comprehensive resilience plans, risk assessments, and climate adaptation planning. You will exchange ideas, best practices, and lessons learned with Stantec\'s local and national experts in resiliency planning, modeling, and design. You will coach and mentor developing planning professionals seeking to diversify and expand their climate action skills. You will help develop and execute our resilience strategy in the Northeast market and support national pursuits.

This role is location flexible between our Northeast offices and hybrid work.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Climate Resilience Planner and Project Manager, you will join a growing and enthusiastic team of planning professionals. You will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to forward-looking programs, policies, and plans. You will partner with our climate and environmental scientists, digital solutions developers, GIS experts, funding specialists, engineers, and planners to develop action-oriented resilience plans for our municipal and agency clients.

In this role, your understanding of community and infrastructure resilience, hazard mitigation, climate adaptation, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement will allow you to lead tasks, teams, and projects across the region and nationally depending on your interests.

We are seeking an individual with the desire and ability to:

Expand and enhance our resiliency planning practice in the Northeast market.

Lead and support regional and national pursuits and projects.

Manage multiple planning projects in a time-sensitive, fast-paced team environment.

Support staff development and workload planning

Motivate and inspire teams to work together to achieve project goals.

Organize the teams\' efforts to consistently deliver quality plans on schedule/budget.

Represent Stantec at industry events, client and agency meetings.

Guide the development and delivery of inclusive and equitable stakeholder outreach and engagement..

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Passionate about climate resilience and sustainability projects and initiatives

Excellent leadership, communication, organizational and collaboration skills

Self-starter with energetic and ambitious can-do attitude who can quickly collaborate and engage with colleagues, across the US and across disciplines, to contribute to a growing regional and national practice with limited supervisory support

Proven track record for delivering quality planning deliverables on-time and on-budget

Proven and demonstrated high quality technical writing skills.

Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Adobe Suite experience desirable

Growth mindset with a strong desire to stay knowledgeable on trends and best practices

Demonstrated experience using publicly available climate data and models as the basis for climate change vulnerability assessments

Familiarity using FHWA framework and VAST for regional or statewide resilience improvement plans

Experience preparing multimodal resiliency plans and/or climate resilient corridor studies

Knowledge of state and federal resilience focused funding programs/sources; grant writing experience desirable

Education and Experience

Bachelor\'s degree or Masters Degree in planning, public policy, climate or environmental science, engineering, or related field.

Certifications in AICP, CFM, ENV SP, PMP, PE or related a plus

Minimum 10 years relevant experience

This role is location flexible between our Northeast offices and hybrid work; may require some field work. Each of our regional offices offer a welcoming environment with flexible workstations, on-site amenities, and in-office events. Must have valid driver\'s license.
