Duties Description The NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) is a state agency within the Executive Department that is responsible for the care and management of 35 state historic sites and 180 parks. Collectively, these public facilities provide both residents and visitors access to natural, historic, and scenic resources with opportunities for outdoor recreation and places to learn about New York's rich cultural heritage.
Under the direction of the agency Internal Control Officer, the Senior Administrative Analyst is responsible for conducting risk assessments and internal control reviews to identify areas of potential risk, fraud, inefficiency, or non-compliance. The selected candidate will develop recommendations and work with management on how to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations, undertake efforts to improve internal controls and reduce risks.

This title includes a traineeship opportunity, and applicants will be appointed to the appropriate level** based on their experience and education.
Required experience: professional experience conducting management and organizational studies to review and revise procedures for new or changing programs, review organizational performance, conduct data analysis, and develop internal controls. Master's and higher-level degrees will substitute for one year of required experience.
