We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual to conduct guest room inspections and deep cleaning at the leading independent boutique hotel in Waikiki. We are looking for individuals who possess a high level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic. This role has direct involvement with both guests and management and good communication skills are required. The perfect candidate will have a positive attitude and a can-do spirit along with a flexible schedule.
The Property is one of 17 hotels located on the famous Kalakaua Avenue. Adjacent to King Kalakaua Park, surrounded by Fort DeRussy, Luxury Row, Trump International Hotel and the Ritz Carlton. The Hotel is comprised of 192 rooms and enjoys beautiful, unobstructed panoramic views; being next to two parks, many of our rooms have unobstructed ocean, city, and mountain views.
The Hotel was built in 1972 as the first Hyatt in Hawaii. We have completed Phase I of our renovation and are working on Phase 2 now.
Our goals are less inward focused (not pretentious) and more outwardly focused on our guest experience. Our hotels will be known for its design tied to the elements of our nature - wood, water, plants and flowers; and the spirit of love and aloha, and through accentuating the local culture. The ownership's goals are to use this Hotel as the foundation for expansion into additional properties. We are seeking someone with boutique hotel experience, who is intrinsically service, and operations minded with the desire to excel.
Summary:
The Housekeeping self-inspector will be a dynamic and hardworking individual who has the knowledge and skills to lead the housekeeping inspection process and deep clean efforts. The self inspector is an integral part of the Housekeeping Team who collectively is responsible for the cleanliness and attention to detail of the hotel.
The primary responsibility is for cleaning and inspecting all guest rooms/suites ensuring that they meet the highest standards of cleanliness and condition. The Self inspector will also be responsible for deep-cleaning and ensuring that guest rooms are ready and clean in a timely fashion. The Role includes cleaning rooms on a rotation basis with other Room Attendants and self inspect their own rooms, self release rooms for guest's arrival experience. Work with the Housekeeping managers and other managers of the hotel to ensure room readiness for arrivals and rooms being serviced is done in a timely manner.
Prerequisites:
Previous housekeeping/cleaning experience required; hotel/resort preferred
Must have cheerful and positive attitude.
Results and operations oriented.
Be able to clean rooms like a room attendant and fill in as such weekly in rotations with others.
Essential Functions:
Inspect all rooms assigned to housekeepers daily, using a standard checklist for details.
Notify housekeepers of any deficiencies found in the room and note on their board. Follow-up to re-inspect for correction as needed.
Maintain deep cleaning/rotating cleaning checklist to ensure daily tasks are met.
Deep clean guest rooms as needed.
Coordinate with Front Desk regarding discrepant rooms.
Preform physical checks to ascertain status.
Report items that need repair to engineering. Follow-up to check for completion.
Follow proper lost and found procedures for items left behind in guest rooms.
Follow all safety procedures while working.
Foster customer loyalty through high-quality interactions.

Work Environment:
As a back of house position that has an important impact on the overall guest experience, the Housekeeping Inspector will be required to work efficiently on their feet over the course of a full-workday with the likelihood that they will be encountering guests in the public spaces on guest room floors.
