Job Description

Join a highly skilled Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering team focused on advancing battery pack assembly technology across North America and global partners. In this role, you will contribute directly to the development, validation, and optimization of complex manufacturing equipment that supports next-generation mobility. You will work hands-on with cutting-edge automation, collaborate with engineering experts, and play a critical role in ensuring equipment meets rigorous standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

What You'll Do



Support - Production Engineering Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering teams in developing equipment for battery pack assembly. Assist in creating and reviewing equipment specifications to ensure alignment with established standards. Contribute to machine risk assessments and verification processes. Perform Seibi equipment evaluations, confirming mechanical, electrical, and safety design integrity. Validate equipment, conveyors, and logistics hardware, including safety interlocks for cells and zones. Participate in Seibi confirmation activities during vendor buy-offs and full zone trials. Support equipment tuning and adjustments to meet safety, quality, and productivity targets. Travel to vendor sites and manufacturing locations across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Japan as part of project execution.

Requirements



Associate degree in a technical field, completion of a trade program, or 3+ years of relevant hands-on technical experience. At least 2 years of experience with PLC programming using Toyopuc, Allen Bradley, Omron, or Siemens platforms. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams). Willingness to work up to 25% overtime, including potential 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays depending on project needs. Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% during peak times, including domestic and international trips. Ideally, 3+ years of experience as a Seibi Technician or in a similar equipment-focused technical role.

Top Skills for Success



Strong PLC programming capabilities (Toyopuc, Allen Bradley, Omron, or Siemens). Highly self-motivated with a strong ownership mindset. Comfortable working across diverse teams, adapting to shifting priorities, and managing frequent travel and overtime.

Travel Expectations:


Up to 50% during peak project phases. Typical trips range from 1-2 weeks, with occasional month-long assignments.

Overtime Expectations:


Approximately 25%, including occasional nights and weekends based on project timelines.

Preferred Experience (a plus, but not required)



Experience in manufacturing equipment procurement, installation, or commissioning. Familiarity with Kawasaki or Fanuc industrial robots used for part transfer or automated fastening. Exposure to Keyence or similar vision systems, including setup and integration. Experience working with AMRs/AGVs or AGV traffic control systems.
