Pediatric Medical Assistant (Part/Full Time)
Sunshine Pediatrics is searching for an experienced Medical Assistant to perform various office and clinical duties to keep our Pediatric office running efficiently. Our Medical Assistant will work directly with Sunshine Pediatric healthcare staff and providers.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
Prepares patients for examination by obtaining vital signs; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.
Administers immunizations and understands CDC immunization schedule
Fills out patient forms: lab requests, WIC forms, medicine administration forms etc.
Records lab results
Notifies parents of lab/xray results when requested by provider
Verifies that all rooms are properly stocked at all times with appropriate items
Completes inventory for office equipment and immunizations and places orders
Organizes the practice environment to assure patient safety and quality health outcomes
Calls in prescriptions when requested by provider
Assists billing team with verification of insurances, collection of patients balances and other tasks
Required education:
High school diploma
Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assisting
Experience:
Working as a medical assistant in a Pediatric office for minimum of 1 year
Bilingual English/Spanish speaking (preferred)
Required license or certification:
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
