Position Overview
We are seeking an
experienced Technician Development Lead
to join our operations team. Salary for this position is dependent on experience, starting at
$90,000+ per year
.
This role is both strategic and hands-on, responsible for empowering Digi Security Systems' technicians to grow their skills, uphold safety practices, and maintain professionalism. The Technician Development Lead will own technician training initiatives, technical readiness programs, assessments, and the Safety Deputy Program, ensuring field excellence and supporting organizational growth.
The position will serve technicians across all Digi Security Systems branches and requires regular field and branch travel to deliver training, conduct assessments, and reinforce safety culture.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with instructional design and leadership skills. They will design and deliver structured, engaging training programs, develop standardized assessments, and implement scalable systems and tools to track readiness and compliance. Success in this role requires clear communication, adaptability, and the ability to build credibility and trust with field teams while collaborating across HR, Operations, and Technical departments.
Candidates must have:
Expert background in installing and servicing Access Control, CCTV, and Burglar/Intrusion Alarm Systems
At least five (5) years of experience in the commercial security systems field
Proven ability to lead training programs, drive safety compliance, and manage change effectively
Main Responsibilities:
Reduce Technician Ramp Time
Decrease onboarding time for new technicians by implementing structured training and first-90-day portfolios.
Elevate Technician Performance & Agility
Launch recurring training cadences and cross-training programs to improve technical versatility and reduce downtime.
Strengthen Safety Culture
Maintain and scale the Safety Deputy Program across all sites.
Standardize Technical Practices
Develop and maintain version-controlled SOPs for installation and troubleshooting.
Improve Compliance & Certification Tracking
Build tools (dashboards, trackers) for monitoring certifications and readiness.
Scale Development Programs Across Partner Companies
Support Train-the-Trainer programs and mentorship initiatives.
Enhance Technician Engagement & Retention
Track technician sentiment and provide feedback loops.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift/move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work from ladders or man lifts at extended heights.
Must be able to differentiate colors.

Must have a current, valid driver's license in the state of which you are applying and have the ability to meet our company driving standards.
