The Role
============
The Security Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of visitors, staff, and assets at the Museum of Glass. This role involves managing the security team, safeguarding the museum's artwork, grounds, and physical structure, and responding to security and emergency situations with a calm and solution-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities:
Security Team Management
: Hire, train, and supervise gallery monitors; assist, advise, and guide staff regarding security regulations and procedures; coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, and contract security personnel.
Facility Monitoring
: Maintain security desk by monitoring alarm systems, access points, and restricted areas; conduct regular patrols of the grounds; report facility and security issues to the appropriate parties; contact law enforcement when necessary. Safeguard the assets of MOG including the artwork, grounds and physical structure. Ensure a safe and secure environment for employees, volunteers, and visitors.
Visitor Assistance
: Answer questions and provide directions for guests; respond to emergencies and investigate reports of suspicious activity; facilitate guests and deliveries, escort vendors and unaccompanied visitors, ensuring adherence to sign-in and sign-out procedures.
Emergency Response
: Serve as the front-line responder for security and emergency situations within MOG ensuring a calm and solution-oriented response. Take predetermined action and render first aid in emergencies such as accidents, fires, and illnesses; create and maintain incident reports and logs.
Communication
: Maintain a positive working relationship with all museum staff, especially those fulfilling customer service responsibilities; resolve complaints and provide backup to museum staff where intervention is necessary. Report weekly to all museum departments on security and safety issues, policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure optimal communication and cooperation.
Policy Development
: Create and develop security policies, procedures, training manuals, and supporting documents.

Education and Experience: High School graduate or equivalent. Prior management of an office or team preferred. Prior experience in security, law enforcement or military a plus. Ability to be trained on CPR and first aid to be certified. A background check is required for this role.
