Join the Office of Public Health as a Security Officer in Baton Rouge! In this role, you will patrol assigned areas, monitor buildings and grounds, check identification of visitors, and ensure proper permits are in place. Officers monitor alarms, respond to disturbances, and conduct preliminary investigations to maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, clients, and property.
Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be a uniformed, POST-certified law enforcement officer. Applicants must be a commissioned, off-duty police officer or sheriff's deputy selected through the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office (EBRSO).

Job Duties:
Patrols an assigned area.
Checks security of buildings and grounds.
Checks persons on public wharfs or docks to determine if they possess proper identification and permits.
Checks identification of persons who enter facilities or grounds.
Monitors alarm boards for signs of disturbances.
Conducts preliminary investigations relevant to disturbances within an assigned area.
Interviews disturbances in order to restore peace.
