As a Security Officer - Retail Mall Patrol in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.
As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail environments to help to deter security-related incidents and promote a welcoming atmosphere. Your presence will help create a secure environment for patrons and staff through visible patrols, access control, and loss prevention. You will also play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and clear communication while responding to incidents as they arise. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain a secure environment.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and/or high-traffic areas to help to deter theft and other security-related concerns.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, employees, and/or management as needed.
• Document and report any suspicious activity, incidents, or maintenance issues observed during patrols.
• Work collaboratively with Allied Universal team members and site staff to support overall security-related objectives at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possession of a valid Guard Card or security-related license issued by the state, county, or city is preferred.
• Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
• Experience in loss prevention is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
