Job Description

The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is seeking a full-time Security Officer to join the team responsible for the safety and well-being of employees, volunteers, and visitors. In their role, security officers will respond to various types of emergencies such as first aid, lockdowns, missing persons, fire alarms, and more. They also play an integral role in the guest experience and contribute by ensuring parking lot signage is in place, responding to customer questions, and ensuring the property is ready for opening.



Qualified candidates will have, but not limited to:

Strong problem solving skills, with a focus on adaptability, exercising sound judgment, and upholding high integrity and ethical standards Willingness to learn, practice, and embed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles in their role, with an emphasis on de-escalation and bias sensitivity in interactions with staff and guests Minimum 1 year of customer service experience Experience working with people of diverse backgrounds Current DPSST Unarmed Security Professional Certification Card: + If not licensed, training can be provided at no cost for selected candidates as part of the onboarding process;
Current Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications: + If not licensed, training can be provided at no cost for selected candidates as part of the onboarding process



The Security Officer has an hourly pay of $22.30, and is eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes:
