Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This position requires a proactive approach to security, excellent observational skills, and the ability to handle conflicts effectively.

Duties

Monitor and patrol assigned areas to ensure safety and security. Conduct surveillance to detect suspicious activities. Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, assessing situations and taking appropriate action. Enforce rules and regulations while maintaining a professional demeanor. Manage conflicts effectively, utilizing conflict management skills to de-escalate situations. Provide assistance during emergencies, including administering first aid and CPR when necessary. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as needed for investigations or incidents. Document incidents and prepare reports as required for record-keeping purposes. Participate in ongoing training related to loss prevention strategies and security protocols. Be able to write reports, work with chain of command and professionally communicate with the client and upper management.

Qualifications

Certification in security or law enforcement is preferred but not mandatory. Proven experience in surveillance techniques, loss prevention, or related fields is an advantage. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Knowledge of CPR and first aid; certification is a plus. Familiarity with CCTV systems and other surveillance equipment is beneficial. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various environments. A militarized background may be considered an asset for this role. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.25 - $17.50 per hour
