As a Security Officer - Government Patrols Unarmed in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.
As a valued member of the Allied Universal team, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment within a government location. In this unarmed patrol role, your responsibilities include monitoring assigned areas, conducting regular patrols, and providing a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents. You will also interact with the public, offer outstanding customer service, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, participating in emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the assigned location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity, hazards, or incidents as outlined in post orders and site procedures.
• Collaborate with local authorities and site personnel as needed to address incidents or emergencies.
• Maintain detailed and accurate logs of activities, incidents, and/or irregularities encountered during patrols.
• Follow all instructions and guidelines provided by Allied Universal and site management to maintain a secure environment for all occupants.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least six months of security-related experience is required.
• Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
