As a Security Officer - Education Patrol Driver in Sayville, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more.
As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will conduct regular patrols and remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents and promote a secure environment. You will engage with staff, students, and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting access control and badge protocols. This position involves driving as part of your patrol responsibilities. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the education location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the education location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and address potential concerns.
• Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related issues to Allied Universal management and/or local authorities as required.
• Assist staff, visitors, and students with directions and general inquiries while maintaining a professional presence.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and support a secure environment.
• Complete detailed and accurate reports regarding daily activities, incidents, and irregularities encountered during patrols.
• Follow post orders and instructions provided by Allied Universal and site management specific to the education environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Holding a state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
