As a Security Officer - Access Control - Full Time in Staten Island, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more.
As a Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a vital role in maintaining a secure environment at a leading tech, media, and telecom location. Your responsibilities will focus on access control, including monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, and assisting with badge management. You will conduct routine patrols and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents while providing exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Control access to the location by verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access.
• Provide customer service by assisting visitors, employees, and contractors with access-related inquiries and directions.
• Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies as directed by Allied Universal and the client site.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business premises and perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor surveillance equipment and report any irregularities or security-related issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to company and client requirements.
• Assist with emergency response activities as needed, including evacuations and/or lockdowns, based on site protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Must provide proof of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
