Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This position requires strong observational skills, the ability to respond effectively to emergencies, and a commitment to upholding safety protocols. The Security Officer will be responsible for monitoring premises, conducting surveillance, and ensuring compliance with security policies.

Responsibilities

Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity. Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, assessing situations and taking appropriate action. Enforce security regulations and procedures while maintaining a professional demeanor. Provide first aid and CPR when necessary, ensuring the well-being of individuals in emergency situations. Manage conflicts effectively through de-escalation techniques and conflict management skills. Conduct regular inspections of property to identify potential security risks or vulnerabilities. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when required, providing detailed reports on incidents as necessary. Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying theft or fraud attempts.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a military or law enforcement background is preferred but not mandatory. Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable. Familiarity with surveillance systems (CCTV) and loss prevention strategies is an advantage. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Excellent observational skills with attention to detail for identifying potential security threats. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various environments. Must possess a valid security officer certification where applicable.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 32 per week
