The Farmington Public School District is looking for a Security/Door Monitor for the EXCL Program at West Woods Upper Elementary School

The position is 3 hours per day, 3:00 PM - 6:00 pm Monday - Friday school year

QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Candidate should hold a high school diploma or college level degree.


+ Candidate should demonstrate the ability to communicate with students while maintaining order with large student groups


+ Candidate should demonstrate the ability to monitor visitors and follow visitor sign in procedures.


+ Consideration will be given to the following
- References that indicate the candidate possesses the skills required for this position.

- Ability to control order with groups of students

- Ability to control order with visitors to the school building and follow all visitor sign in policies and procedures

- Ability to follow all safety and security policies and procedures

- Ability to present a respectful demeanor to school community members and visitors

- Ability to make sound judgment


GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The monitor or security monitor provides a variety of monitoring activities, including student and visitor monitoring in order to provide a safe and secure school environment. This includes maintaining visitor policies and procedures, maintaining school discipline codes, monitoring school buildings and grounds, attendance records for class periods, preparing student passes, and following all established safety and security procedures, as required.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:+ Follow all visitor policies and procedures.


+ Maintain student order in assigned areas.


+ Prepare reports, as required.


+ Monitor buildings and grounds to ensure a safe and security school environment.


+ Demonstrate ability to communicate with visitors, students and all members of the school community.


+ Demonstrate respect for students, visitors and all members of the school community.


+ Other related duties, as assigned.




Rate: starting at $20.41- $23.18 per hour
