As a Security Guard - Unarmed Patrol - Full Time in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming environment for those you serve. Your presence and routine patrols will help to promote a sense of well-being for residents and staff, while your strong communication skills and customer service mindset will help to address needs as they arise. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and to observe and report any unusual circumstances.
• Monitor the premises to help to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptive behavior.
• Collaborate with shelter staff and residents as needed to support a positive and orderly environment.
• Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal protocols.
• Remain alert and attentive while on duty, adapting to changing circumstances within the shelter environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Provide proof of high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
