As a Security Guard - Shelter Unarmed Patrol in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing a visible presence. You will interact with residents and guests, support access control, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Working as part of a caring and reliable team, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment and upholding the values of integrity, innovation, and teamwork every day.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report any suspicious, unusual, or prohibited activity within the location.
• Monitor access points and verify identification or authorization for individuals entering the shelter.
• Document and communicate any incidents or maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist in maintaining order and a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• CPR or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
