GENERAL PURPOSE:

Patrols, monitors, and ensures that the building, property and grounds are secure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates. Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises. Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences. Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property. Monitors security cameras, reviews monitors and video player Performs security checks of building & property, including locking doors, entrances, fences and exit gates Performs short rounds to recheck building & property Communicates and coordinates with other security officers Opens and closes main gates and pedestrian gate

A High School Diploma or GED and one or more years of relevant experience involving demonstrated abilities in security; or any combination of training, education and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills.



Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple work activities to meet critical deadlines, as well as working independently Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone and in writing Ability to operate telephone, security monitoring devices and video player Ability to drive golf cart Strong work ethic with an enthusiastic, positive attitude, and the highest level of integrity Excellent communication skills Maintain regular and timely attendance

Work is performed in a safe office environment, warehouse and outside environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: sit and stand for long periods of time; use computer to enter data; use telephone to converse with customers, staff, and other departments; perform repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement. The employee is regularly required to: talk, feel the attributes of objects, grasp, push, and reach with arms or hands.
