As a Security Guard - Government Institution - Full Time in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.
As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents and support a secure environment. You will conduct regular patrols, engage with the public, and provide outstanding customer service while upholding our core values of reliability, integrity, and teamwork. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and provide a visible presence.
• Monitor access points and report any unusual or suspicious activity according to site protocols.
• Maintain detailed and accurate logs of observations, incidents, and activities as required by Allied Universal and site procedures.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and staff within the government environment.
• Assist with emergency evacuations and/or drills as directed by site procedures.
• Remain alert and attentive during patrols and throughout the shift, adapting to changing environments and conditions at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
