Applicant must be available to work 11pm-7am and alternating weekends and holidays.

Primary Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of a security guard is to ensure the safety and protection of the employees, guests, facilities and grounds of the ministry.

Protect property and owners and tenants from theft, damage, trespassing or accidents.

Provide a visible presence that enforces safety and security.

Identify and investigate suspicious behavior, threats and irregular activity.

Respond to alarms and requests for help.

Complete daily activity reports and incident reports.

Monitor activities on security camera video monitors.

Staying alert and observant. Attention to detail.

Ability to work alone or as part of a team without constant monitoring or supervision.

Ability to react appropriately in stressful situations.

Follow instruction and direction from leadership.

Be honest, trustworthy, and display great integrity.

Skills

A security guard is required to be physically fit, mature in outlook and have specific skills that they can gain through intensive training or on-the-job experience. These skills include:

Calm and clear thinking - required to remain calm in difficult situations and think clearly to find ways to protect their clients and their assets.

Communication - required to communicate with individuals, groups and emergency services and exchange information verbally or in writing.

Technical - For work purposes - required to know how to use cellphones, two-way radios, computers, security equipment and security technology.

Problem-solving - required to identify and assess problematic situations as they arise and find appropriate and effective resolutions.

Leadership - required to take charge and guide people during tense situations.

Customer Service - required to provide customers/visitors with the services they require and be vigilant, detail-oriented and polite in all their interactions.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma

Experience:

Formal education and/or on-the-job training experience.

3-5 years experience minimum

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
