DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The primary responsibility of this role is to offer support and guidance to various entities, such as the state forester\'s office, other divisions, bureau field offices, and the general public. This is achieved through the coordination, planning, and administration of the Bureau\'s State Forest Spatial Analysis program, as well as the management of spatial data applications and analysis. Additionally, this position plays a crucial role in information management and ensures coordination with statewide forest planning, inventory, and shale gas monitoring programs. Acting as a liaison between the Bureau of Forestry and the Department and Office of Administration (OA)-level Information Technology (IT), this position facilitates effective communication and collaboration. By providing expertise in the integration of technologies, you will support the Bureau of Forestry\'s planning and management efforts. Furthermore, you will contribute to the development of appropriate policies and actively monitor forest resources to ensure their sustainable utilization.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday; with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Alternate Work Schedule is available.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of experience as a Forest Program Specialist; or
  • Two years of experience as a Forest Assistant Manager; or
  • Two years of experience as a Forest Nursery Manager; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which affords the applicant the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
