Prior Authorization Specialist - Pain Management

Comprehensive Spine & Pain is a fast-growing interventional pain management practice serving patients across Oklahoma. We are committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care and are looking for an experienced Prior Authorization Specialist to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

Submit prior authorizations for interventional pain procedures (LESI, MBB/RFA, Kyphoplasty, SCS trials, etc.) Work daily through payer portals and medical record systems (e.g., AIM, Availity, Evicore) Review provider notes, imaging, WISeR/ORT risk scores, and conservative care documentation to support authorization Track and manage authorization workflow in shared logs or EMR systems Notify schedulers, providers, and patients on auth status timelines Appeal denials and resolve authorization barriers efficiently Maintain awareness of Medicare LCDs and private insurance guidelines for pain procedures

Qualifications:

1+ year of medical authorization or insurance verification experience (required) Experience in pain management, orthopedics, radiology, or similar specialty (preferred) Familiarity with CPT/ICD-10 coding for interventional procedures EMR experience (eClinicalWorks preferred) Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
