Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Seasonal Tax Preparer to join our dynamic team during the busy tax season. In this role, you will assist clients with preparing and filing their tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws. Responsibilities

Prepare individual and small business tax returns accurately using tax software and accounting tools such as QuickBooks and Sage. Review financial documents, including income statements, expense reports, and bank statements, to gather necessary information for tax filings. Assist clients in understanding their tax obligations and provide guidance on potential deductions and credits. Conduct data entry with precision, including 10 key typing tasks, ensuring all information is correctly recorded in the system. Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or errors, applying strong analysis skills to resolve issues efficiently. Support the team with bookkeeping tasks and basic accounting functions related to client accounts. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client information while adhering to privacy regulations. Provide excellent customer service by answering client inquiries promptly and professionally. Stay updated on current tax laws, regulations, and software updates to ensure compliance and accuracy. Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines during peak tax season while managing multiple client files simultaneously.

Skills

Strong understanding of financial concepts, including basic accounting principles and public accounting practices. Experience with tax preparation software and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage. Knowledge of financial sales techniques and marketing strategies to promote services when appropriate. Excellent analysis skills for reviewing financial documents and identifying issues or opportunities for clients. Proficiency in math, including calculations related to taxes, deductions, credits, and other financial data. Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately under time constraints for efficient data entry. Customer service skills that foster positive relationships with clients through clear communication and professionalism. Technical accounting knowledge relevant to corporate accounting scenarios when applicable. Experience or interest in bookkeeping, financial analysis, or technical accounting is a plus.
