Start & End Date: April 24 - October 31, 2023 Schedule: Store is open 7 days a week, 10am - 6pm and your schedule depends on availability We require all seasonal employees to work a minimum of 10 hours per week. Weekends and holidays are required to be considered for the role. Who We\xe2\x80\x99re Looking for In partnership with the Farm Store\xe2\x80\x99s leadership team, you will help enhance the experience of Shelburne Farms through authentic and meaningful interactions, as you share the programs, products, services, and place with each visitor. Through in-person and phone interactions with the public, you\xe2\x80\x99ll maintain strong knowledge of the daily operations and services offered at the farm, while communicating in a warm and friendly manner. What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do
  • Welcome visitors into our busy Farm Store, answer questions, and guide them to the appropriate products and services.
  • Answer phone calls and in-person inquiries by representing the guest services for all farm services, programs, activities and products offered at Shelburne Farms.
  • Operate Point of Sales (POS) system to process each customer\xe2\x80\x99s transaction.
  • Ensure shelves are continuously stocked and look to leadership for merchandising guidance.
  • Unpack, price, and stock newly arrived products.
  • Support our continuous effort to build and sustain a welcoming and diverse working and learning environment for all visitors, guests, and staff.
Core Qualifications
  • Authentic engagement: Engage with each visitor to hear their questions while informing them on ways to connect with the farm and activities.
  • Commitment to schedule: All Farm Store staff are required to work some, if not most, weekends and holidays throughout the busy season (May - October), and a minimum of 10 hours/week.

Additional Valued Qualifications
  • Guest Services, Customer Service and/or Sales Associate experience is ideal, but not required.
  • Knowledge of a Point of Sale system (POS) is helpful but not required.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Primarily an indoor work environment however you may need to go outdoors to set up signs or help a guest.
  • Ability to be mobile throughout your entire shift.
  • Ability to lift, squat, twist, bend, move up and down stairs while carrying items weighing up to 40 lbs.
