Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred; some college coursework and/or directly related experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Ability to follow oral and written instructions; communicate effectively and interact with a diverse population of participants; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Reliable transportation needed to travel between schools in your assigned zone within a typical shift (IRS standard mileage reimbursement rate \xe2\x80\x93 currently 65.5 cents per mile). Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification required.
Duties
Looking for a great seasonal job to earn extra money? We are seeking Seasonal Parks & Recreation Workers to provide program support and customer service during the upcoming winter basketball program! You\xe2\x80\x99ll be checking in with group representatives, players and coaches from county co-sponsored groups using gyms located within your assigned geographic area or zone. Most zones include stops at 4-5 schools within an average radius of 10 miles. During each stop, you\xe2\x80\x99ll introduce yourself to the appointed onsite league representative(s), and complete a detailed facility checklist which includes various information related to participants and usage, verify appropriate facility setup, cleanliness of facility, and scheduled participant usage, etc. You\xe2\x80\x99ll serve as a liaison for the department to leagues, associations, and school facility staff by relaying information about the program and participants. Perform other work as required.
Shift
4-5 hour shifts vary during basketball program hours which include Monday - Friday evenings 5:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.; Saturdays 8:00 a.m. \xe2\x80\x93 10:00 p.m.; Sundays 12 noon \xe2\x80\x93 9:00 p.m.
