We are seeking an experienced, motivated individual to join our team as our Seafood Department Manager. As the Manager you will be responsible for the department's needs and goals. You will be managing all aspects of the department to keep it stocked daily, while implementing merchandising and sales initiatives, and ensuring superb customer service in every customer interaction. This position requires prior experience in a food-handling environment, and our ideal candidate has strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to work well with others to obtain a common goal as a team
Responsibilities:
Place orders with vendors based on the department's needs
Ensure proper food handling within the department
Creating, managing and executing the task list
Calculate pricing based on costs and appropriate gross margin
Help customers at the counter while producing
Stocking and refilling depleted inventory following proper rotation procedures
Operate various types of equipment including but not limited to: ovens, grills, fryers
Be able to lift 50 lbs
Cleaning and sanitizing backroom prep areas following all Safety and Sanitation Procedures
Flexibility to work in other departments
Providing excellent customer service
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store
Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts.
Adaptability to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Job Qualifications:
You must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role
Provides prompt and courteous customer service
Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
Ability to perform general cleaning duties to company standards
Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
Excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
Effective time management
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior management experience
Prior work experience in a deli or kitchen required
Ability to handle meat department equipment safely
Customer-focused with a positive and friendly attitude
