This hybrid role supports both the screen printing and direct-to-film (DTF) production processes. The technician will split time evenly between preparing and maintaining screens for traditional screen printing and operating DTF equipment to produce high-quality transfers. This position requires technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple workflows efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Screen Room (50%)
Coat, expose, and develop screens based on production specs
Reclaim and clean screens using appropriate chemicals and equipment
Inspect screens for defects and ensure proper tension and mesh quality
Maintain screen inventory and job tracking
Collaborate with press operators and art department to ensure screen readiness
Perform routine maintenance on screen room equipment
DTF Operations (50%)
Operate DTF printers and curing equipment to produce transfers
Monitor print quality and troubleshoot issues
Load and process artwork files for DTF output
Maintain cleanliness and calibration of DTF equipment
Organize and label finished transfers for production use
Communicate with production team to meet deadlines and quality standards
Qualifications
Experience in screen printing and/or DTF printing preferred
Familiarity with emulsion coating, exposure units, reclaiming systems, and DTF workflows
Ability to lift to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies
