Summary
The Department of Medicine - Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Baylor College of Medicine is actively hiring for a Scientific Programmer at the Texas Medical Center. The role involves assisting with biomedical data analysis, medical imaging, and AI/ML applications in clinical research. Candidates may also contribute to software development and quality systems that rely on programming and AI methods. This position supports innovative research aimed at advancing diagnostics and treatment in digestive disease and health in general.
Job Duties

• Prepares and implements computer programming for biomedical data analysis, medical imaging, and AI/ML applications in clinical research.
• Develop codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains programs used in clinical and biomedical research.
• Designs and develops research software tailored to healthcare data workflows and analytical pipelines.
• Configures and customizes third-party software to support biomedical imaging and signal processing tasks.
• Advises on hardware and software decisions, especially those involving AI/ML tools and data infrastructure for clinical research.
• Applies existing custom research software to both well-defined and complex problems in biomedical data analysis and imaging.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• May also have experience with software development and quality systems that rely on programming and AI methods.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
• No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience in web-based technologies and/or data science technologies such as Python.
• Experience building APIs in any programming language.
