Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical protocol development, review and implementation for clinical studies being performed at NIHCC and International field sites.
• Monitor ongoing clinical studies, trails and operations.
• Review clinical documentation and protocols, provide suggestions to improve study designs and execution.
• Provide detailed reports for the Federal task leader upon request.
• Participate in site visits as needed.
• Evaluate, analyze and interpret research data, communicate results and methods in reports, presentations and manuscripts.
• Provide support and mentors other clinicians, physician assistants and clinical coordinators on projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Work will be performed for up to 40 hours per week totaling 1,452 hours per 12 months (1,245 hours for the base period of 10 months and 9 days).
• Holds a medical degree from an accredited institution and maintains an active license to practice medicine.
• Maintain a medical license in good standing.
• Minimum of six (6) years of work experience is required.
• Maintain NIH Clinical Center privileges and access to NIHCC specific databases.
• Experience in human clinical study design and procedures for safely conducting malaria vaccine studies in African countries.
• Organize data into manuscripts, presents data at clinical and scientific related meetings.
• Able to obtain NIH credentialing.
• Knowledgeable in malaria vaccine clinical trial design and implementation.
• Able to communicate in writing, speaking, and presentation of data to various audiences.
• Knowledge of regulatory authorities for US and International as it pertains to the conduct of human clinical vaccine trials.

• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, face shields/goggles, safety glasses, lab coat and disposable dust/surgical mask.
