This role is ideal for an educator or coach who has hands-on experience with the Science Olympiad and has an educated understanding of how to strategically and tactically approach the Science Olympiad.
Key Responsibilities
Lead
weekly in-person coaching sessions
with a team of 17 students at a school in Redmond, WA.
Collaborate with the School Director to
design and refine a curriculum
that prepares students for the
Science Olympiad (Division M)
.
Coach students in
competition strategy
and manage the team according to the developed timeline.
Work
independently with minimal supervision
, reporting regularly to the School Director.
Partner with
volunteer parent coaches
in coaching subject mastery.
Track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
Support students in competition logistics and preparation.
Key Qualifications
Must reside in or near Redmond, WA
and be available for
in-person group sessions
.
Direct experience in the Science Olympiad
as a coach and/or competitor. (please specify experience in application). Coach experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work with both students and parent coaches.
Strong subject-matter knowledge and enthusiasm for academic competitions.
Bonus:
direct experience in the Math Olympiad for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS), the National Science Bowl, and/or any other major STEM competitions
