Position Summary



Under the supervision of a Licensed Therapist, the School-Based Behavioral Health Specialist provides behavioral and emotional support to students in school and community settings. This position focuses on implementing individualized interventions, modeling coping and social skills, and reinforcing therapeutic strategies introduced by the treatment team. The specialist collaborates closely with teachers, school counselors, and families to help students improve regulation, relationships, and school engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



Provide direct behavioral and emotional support to students in individual and group settings under the supervision of a Licensed Therapist. Implement individualized strategies that reinforce treatment goals and promote coping, emotional regulation, and social skills. Monitor and document student behavior, participation, and progress in collaboration with the treatment team. Communicate regularly with teachers, counselors, and family members to support consistency across settings. Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute behavioral observations to support care planning. Carry out agency policies and participate in supervision, training, and agency-wide initiatives.

Requirements



High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field preferred. Minimum of three years of experience working with youth or families in a behavioral health, educational, or social service setting. Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS) credential preferred. Experience implementing behavioral interventions or facilitating youth groups preferred. Familiarity with trauma-informed care and positive behavior support strategies. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with school staff and families.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
