Job Summary

The Unarmed Security Coordinator is responsible for contributing to a safe and secure environment for the employees, students and visitors within a school setting. The position involves daily supervision of unarmed school security personnel. In addition, the position will provide support and will take direction from the district Safety and Security Coordinator via hands-on interaction within the district. The selected candidate will assist in conducting trainings, building inspections and other assigned safety and security tasks.

Approximate Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm (subject to slight changes due to operational needs; includes frequent after school events)

Salary: $80,000 annually

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of school security personnel and ensure compliance with key performance indicators (KPIs.)
• Review incident reports and maintain accurate and detailed records of security personnel performance and evaluation records.
• Coordinate the district security schedule to include after-hours activities and special events.
• Develop post orders and assignments for school security personnel in collaboration with district administration.
• Assist school district administration with any investigations.
• In conjunction with district administrator, review the school entity\'s policies and procedures relative to school safety and security and compliance with Federal and State laws regarding school safety and security.
• Assist with professional development and training of school staff on safety and security topics, including ERT trainings.
• Coordinate training and resources for students and school entity staff in matters relating to situational awareness, trauma-informed approaches, behavioral health awareness, suicide and bullying awareness, substance abuse awareness and emergency procedures and training drills, including fire, natural disaster, active shooter, hostage situation and bomb threat.
• Serve as a liaison to the executive safety committee on matters of school safety and security.
• Conduct periodic reviews of CCTV on a regular basis to ensure that cameras are recording/operating. Report any technical issues to Safety and Security Coordinator
• Coordinate a tour of the school entity\'s buildings and grounds biennially or when a building is first occupied or reconfigured with the law enforcement agencies and first responders that are primarily responsible for protecting and securing the school entity to discuss and coordinate school safety and security matters.
• Provide effective communication with Cardinal Point and the school district on all matters related to safety and security.
• Assist district administration at the scenes of critical incidents, significant calls for service, and special events.
• Perform routine safety inspections of buildings and ensure that corrective action is taken for unsafe conditions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with first responders and maintain an accurate list of key contacts and their roles in emergency situations.
• Perform all other duties assigned as determined by Cardinal Point and the school district as related to this position.

• Associate\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement or related field (Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s preferred)
• A minimum of 5-7 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in emergency management, law enforcement. Supervisory experience preferred.
• Completion of required Act 67 course.
• Valid PA driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and clean driving record.
• Capable and able to perform all operations associated with security technology.
• Successful completion and submission of all required school clearances (PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Fingerprint History, etc.)
