School Health Consultants, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Health Consultant/School Nurse to join our North Kitsap team. This role is pivotal in providing support and guidance to staff and students in various aspects of student-related health. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in pediatrics, emergency care, education, and/or mental health, with the ability to promote health, well-being, collaboration, and teamwork. This part-time, 3 day per week position (22.5 hours/wk) will remain open until filled. The position follows the school calendar with summers and holidays off.
Responsibilities
Assess the health and welfare needs of students, providing tailored support strategies.
Craft and monitor individual health plans and emergency care plans for students with health-related needs.
Delegate and supervise designated nursing tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel.
Conduct staff trainings, as needed.
Oversee mandatory state screenings.
Monitor immunization compliance.
Advise on infectious disease management.
Collaborate with parents, educators, and other professionals to create comprehensive support and response plans.
Facilitate education aimed at promoting health awareness and personal development.
Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress for each individual served.
Stay updated on best practices in school related health services.
Requirements
Minimum of three years nursing experience
Registered Nurse
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
BLS certified
ESA certified or willingness to become ESA certified
Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings.
Strong understanding of childhood development principles.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and educators.
A passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students and their families.
Ability to lift and/or move 25 pounds, walk 500 feet to various campus locations, use stairs (particularly in an emergency), perform medical treatments, and administer medications via all routes.

Pay: $41,040.00 - $42,750.00 per year
