Job Summary:
The K-8 School Counselor will provide support to students and families for social, emotional, and academic learning needs.
A Day in the Life of the High School School Counselor:
Create and co-lead the student support team/MTSS.
Meet with administration team to review referrals and interventions.
Drive, co-lead and support implementation of tier 1 program; support teachers and offer PD and training when needed. Ensure connection with tier 2/3 interventions.
Create singular or multiple cross-grade tier 2 groups.
Maintain awareness of student diagnoses, develop and update plans for tier 3 students, and share with staff as needed.
Connect with and support parents as needed, providing referrals to PSC team.
Provide and encourage outside referrals for students as needed.
