Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing safe and reliable transportation services, particularly for children and individuals with special needs. This role requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to manage behavior effectively, and a commitment to educating passengers about safety protocols. Bilingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as communication with diverse communities is highly valued.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a bus on designated routes while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Ensure the safety and well-being of passengers during transit, including children and individuals requiring paratransit services. Educate passengers on safety procedures and proper behavior while on the bus. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns in a friendly manner. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus interior before and after each route. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition. Report any mechanical issues or incidents promptly to management. Assist passengers with disabilities or special needs as required, demonstrating patience and understanding.

Qualifications

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL). Experience in school bus driving or paratransit services is highly desirable. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus. Previous experience in childcare or behavior management is beneficial for working with young passengers. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism. Must pass background checks and any required training programs related to safety and transportation regulations.
