The YMCA of Northern Colorado is hiring a Branch Director to oversee the development and day-to-day operations of school age after school and day camp programs at our Longmont YMCA Branch. Our new Branch Director will coordinate school-age programs at the branch and develop new youth and family programming. You will also provide general support to the Boulder Branch of the YMCA as needed. During the summer you will serve as leadership staff in one of our 15 summer day camps; we will work with you to determine the best fit for you in the summer months.

You\'ll need to know how to manage large and small groups of kids, staff of all of ages, keeping them engaged and ensuring their wellbeing. You understand that after-school and summer camp programs are not just about fun; they are an opportunity for all to find community, confidence, and connection in a positive group setting.

You need to be a communicator, a listener and a patient answerer of questions. You believe in the power of teamwork, working well with YMCA members, volunteers, program participants, families, trainees, and supervisors. You will also be responsible for tracking program registrations and trends while looking for program development opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develops and manages operating plans to promote, grow and run outstanding state licensed day camp and school age programs. Directs and coordinates existing programs within School Age and Day Camp Programs.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with all YMCA departments and with community organizations.
  • Recruits, trains, empowers, and schedules school age and day camp staff. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals, while ensuring requisite training is completed.
  • Monitors daily program operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations. Ensures that program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
  • Sets expectations for proper maintenance and accuracy of records for both staff and children.
  • Organizes and participates in YMCA Branch special events. Assists in YMCA fundraising activities.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in the programs.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor\'s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years\' experience in program development and implementation.
  • Must be School Age Director Qualified in the state of Colorado. Can be qualified in the following ways:
  • 48 college credit hours + 910 hours experience with school-age children ages 5-16
  • 5,640 hours working with school age children
  • Degree in related field: Education, Recreation, Psychology, Sociology, Early Childhood Education, etc.
Typical requirements by the end of the 1st day on the job includes completion of: Child Abuse Prevention; Bloodborne Pathogens; Incident Reporting; Work Related Injury. CPR; First Aid; AED; Medication Administration required within 30 days of hire. * Ability to meet YMCA MVR requirements and qualify to drive YMCA minibusses.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of age groups, demographics and have ability to collaborate well with several groups and individuals.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Experience in program development for school age children in a licensed program, as well as experience with staff development.
  • Ability and desire to embrace the mission of the YMCA.
Salary Range is $22-27/hour. Position is year round, full time Monday-Friday, hours vary during the school year from 7:00am-7:00pm. Positions continue 40 hours a week through summer, at one of our 15+ Day Camp Locations. We will work with you to determine the best fit for you in those summer months!
