Position Overview




Role:

School Braillist Para

Location:

Seattle, WA (South Seattle)

Type:

In-person, full-time, 6.5 paid hours per day M-F

Schedule:

2025-2026 school year

Key Responsibilities




Responsibilities include brailing text and other educational documents to ensure accessibility for students Support Blind and Visually Impaired students 1-1 in the school setting

Qualifications




Competency in Unified English Braille (UEB) by passing a recognized assessment, such as the NCUEB assessment, Library of Congress certification, or the Washington State School for the Blind competency test Fingerprinting/ Background required School based experience 1+ years preferred In Person Only 2 Completed Supervisory References upfront Associate's Degree (Bachelor's Degree preferred) Well organized and efficient; time management skills to prioritize job tasks
