POSITION TITLE: Scheduler


DEPARTMENT: Logistics


REPORTS TO: Planning & Purchasing Manager



JOB SUMMARY: Ensure that company objectives are achieved and that all production deadlines are met. Multitask and provide quick responses to production problems. Shift resources so that employees and materials are used as effectively as possible.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees Plan, schedule, and monitor movement of materials through production cycles Open and allocate work orders using the Materials Requirement Planning System Create and maintain production schedules Use workers and resources in the most effective manner Provide quick responses to production issues Identify problems and help improve processes Use software to generate reports and schedules Ensure that company deadlines are met Review lead times and safety stock values Assist the Master Scheduler and Production Manager in scheduling production to optimize production

QUALIFICATIONS:

Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus Well organized and self-directed Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion Must possess the ability to collaborate across functional lines and work effectively in a team environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of computer applications Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast pace environment Proficiency with computers and Google Applications Ability to create and understand reports in order to make production decisions Ability to work accurately with numbers and details A desire to promote the success of the organization and production staff Knowledge of Manufacturing scheduling systems Minimum 2 to 3 years of Scheduling experience or equivalent At Least 3 years of related work experience in a manufacturing facility Must be self-directed and possess strong organizational and decision-making skills Must possess strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is performed in an office environment with occasional exposure to a production environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Must comply with safety equipment standards: safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety toe shoes when present on the production floor. * Occasional overnight travel may be required.
