We are seeking a Scada Technology Engineer who is motivated by variety, is seeking a challenging environment for professional growth, and is interested in supporting large information technology projects for one of our clients, who is one of the top 10 largest electric companies in the U.S., headquartered in Newark, NJ.

The SCADA Technology Engineer will be involved in the full technology life cycle and responsible for designing, coding, configuring, testing, implementing, and supporting software, hardware, and systems. SCADA Technology Engineers work closely with Analysts and Product Managers to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and physical design of technical solutions. SCADA Technology. Engineers may be assigned to either implementation or support functions. Implementation involves creating new technology-based solutions whereas support involves upgrades, maintenance, or issue resolution to existing technology solutions.

Location: Tri-State Area (to include NY, CT and NJ). Some travel required.

The Challenge:

  • Analysis of end user\xe2\x80\x99s needs, business, and technology requirements. Translation of these requirements into technology solution capabilities and design. Alternatively, using knowledge of these requirements in performing peer reviews of designs, implementation plans, software code, configuration settings or other artifacts to ensure technology solution being created by others meets the user needs, business, and technology requirements.
  • Provides support toward resolution of escalated support tickets. May perform the needed analysis to identify root cause of reported incidents, identify the short- and long-term remediation for the identified incidents.
  • Analyzes various reports to ensure that the functionality and performance meets all product and service level requirements.
  • Provides support toward resolution of escalated support tickets. Applies operation break fixes and performs other proactive maintenance activities until permanent solutions can be implemented. Supports and participates in the solution deployment process for new functionality subsystems / modules, upgrades, updates, and fixes to the production environment.
  • General System Troubleshooting, searching through logs, configurations, changes, etc. to determine causes of issues
  • Documenting procedures and processes
  • Workstation and Server Patching (Windows and Linux)
  • Windows and Linux command line use for setting up the configuration ready for the project team
  • Reading/understanding system diagrams and documents (Vizio diagrams, IP/LAN spreadsheets, Firewall configuration sheets, etc.)
  • Configuration of workstations and applications
  • Clearly communicating with multiple system stakeholders
  • Assisting system users with issues and requests (login issues, password resets, new feature requests)
  • General System Architecture
  • Assist in the architectural (design discussion) from the SCADA point of view
  • Actively involved in the system integration of the portfolio
  • Design and recommend system configuration for product functions in different domains
  • Understanding the communication requirement between different boundaries and coming up with recommendations
  • Actively working with network team to develop firewall rules and validate such rules
  • Assist the team in the testing and validation process from the system design
  • Clearly communicate with multiple system stakeholders
What Sets You Apart:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems/Computer Science or equivalent, with four plus (4+) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience of relevant Scada experience. May consider more experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience in SCADA/EMS/OTS system architecture, design, development, testing and deployment.
  • Hands on OSI experience on System Integration and SCADA Monarch
  • Must possess the ability to read applicable technical documents and/or schematics.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating environment, Linux shells, standard utilities.
  • Experience with all administrative functions related to high available/critical, redundant, and real-time systems.
  • Knowledge of communication technologies (e.g., network protocols, LAN/WAN, and Fiber networks), SCADA protocols.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-driven and have demonstrated the ability to work independently with minimum guidance
  • Demonstrated multitasking ability, problem solving skills and a consistent record of on time delivery and customer service
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Six plus (6+) years of Scada experience

Pay Range: Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
