The SBA Credit Analyst is responsible for performing the task of spreading financial data from various sources of financial reporting, on current and potential borrowers. Goal is to present highly granular financial data/ratios to assist the Underwriter to identify financial trends and understand the borrower\xe2\x80\x99s financial condition for a credit decision. SBA Credit Analyst will primarily interact with internal partners such as the Business Development Officer, Business Development Associate, and the Underwriter.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

3. Works directly with Business Development Officers, Business Development Associates, and the Underwriters to review loan requests assigned for spreading of the financial package.
4. Responsible for completing financial statement and tax return spreads to include those required to identify ratios specific to stand alone cash flow, global cash flow, personal cash flow, balance sheet and personal financial capacity.
5. Must be familiar with the source data to be used for spreading, which includes: Business Tax Returns, Business Financial Statements (Company Prepared, Reviewed, Audited), Business Debt Schedules, Personal Tax Returns, Personal Financial Statements and Personal Credit Reports.
6. Responsible for becoming knowledgeable with the SPARK platform (or the current platform used by GBank) where the Financial and Guarantor spread function is performed.
7. Responsible for assuring all financials and documentation used for the completion of the spreads, are uploaded to the respective loan package in the SPARK.
8. Updates the financial spreads as information is collected in SPARK, until the loan package is formally assigned to underwriter. Once it is assigned, the Credit Analyst will communicate to the Underwriter any areas of special attention.
9. Reinforces the application of superior customer service through his or her own example along with appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees.
10. Operates computer terminal or personal computer to process account activity, determine balances and resolve problems within given authority.

The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to one\xe2\x80\x99s own actions and conduct.
15. Performs other duties as assignment by Supervisor that may be related, but not specifically identified by other duties as described herein.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
The position of SBA Credit Analyst is not responsible for the supervision of any employee(s).
MENTAL DEMANDS
This position must be able to accommodate reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, customer contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks, and constant interruptions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree from a 4-year college or university; or 5 years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in lending or finance. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school, or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry.
  • Advanced knowledge lending products and services; related state and federal laws and regulations, and other related policies and procedures.
  • Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in all lending activities and terminology.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Advanced skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing and spreadsheet software programs.
  • Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
  • Intermediate math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio, and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence, and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
