Job Description

Summary:

The Saw/Raw Material Handler is responsible for operating saws and managing raw materials used in the manufacturing process. This role ensures accurate cutting, organization, and distribution of raw materials (such as metal bars, tubes, or sheets) to meet production schedules and specifications. The handler plays a key role in maintaining an efficient workflow by ensuring materials are readily available and accurately processed.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate band saws, cold saws, or other cutting equipment to cut materials to specified dimensions. Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or job instructions to determine material requirements and cutting specifications. Select, identify, and stage raw materials from inventory. Perform accurate measurements and quality checks to ensure materials meet required tolerances. Organize and label cut materials for distribution to appropriate production areas. Maintain inventory of raw materials; assist with inventory counts and material tracking. Safely load, unload, move, and store materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or cranes (if applicable). Maintain cleanliness and organization of the saw area and raw material storage areas. Perform routine maintenance on saw equipment and report any issues to maintenance or supervision. Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in material handling, warehouse work, or saw operation preferred. Basic math and measurement skills (use of tape measures, calipers, etc.). Ability to read and understand work orders and blueprints. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain (if applicable). Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in an industrial environment.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
