Peerless Pump Company, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking an experienced Saw Operator to join its Waller TX Package Engineering Services group.

What is the job about?
The Saw Operator is responsible for accurately cutting structural steel and pipe according to cut sheet and engineering drawings. Materials will be used in the assembly of engineered fluid handling package systems for our customers in the commercial building, industrial, petrochemical and energy industries.
This position reports directly to the Production Manager and will operate daily out of the Waller TX facility (primarily Mon-Thu).
NOTE: Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. The salary range for this position is $43391.00-$57527.00. Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate's profile. The range listed is just one component of Grundfos's total compensation and benefits package for employees. Total compensation includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, bonuses, and employee stock purchase programs, etc. Grundfos salary rates are benchmarked and reflect the target for new hire salaries for the position in Waller, Texas.
Your main responsibilities:
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follows oral or written instructions from supervisor
• Performs precision measurement of pipe and structural steel
• Operates band saw
• Moves materials, supplies, and tools to and from work areas
• Responsible for organization and inventory of raw steel and pipe in yard outside
• Directs rigging and moving of heavy equipment
• Inspects own work and completes quality documentation as required
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment
• Observes all safety programs and safety practices;
• Maintains a safe and clean work area
• Perform work, promote teamwork and communicate in conjunction with our culture and corporate standards (Safety/Environmental, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Communication, Internal Controls, etc.).
• Review product specifications and provides proper compliance documentation.

Your background
We imagine that you have:

• High School Diploma, GED/HSE/HiSET or equivalent *required
• 3-5 years related experience in a manufacturing/shop environment *much preferred
• Veterans with related MOS experience are strongly encouraged to apply. *strongly preferred

• Competencies

• Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Material handling equipment (Fork lift, pallet jack, etc.)
• Cranes, hoist, screw jacks, hydraulic jacks
• Basic Computer skills (MS Windows, Outlook, Internet)
• Manual, power driven, and pneumatic hand tools.
• Tape measure
• Handbooks, charts, manuals, specification sheets, operation sheets, setup sheets.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, frequently grasp tools, lift/push/pull, bend, stoop, crouch, twist, reach, stand and walk when performing activities
• Specific vision abilities include close, distance and peripheral vision
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Able to work in a non-climate controlled factory environment
