Job Description

Buchanan Metal Forming is looking for a Saw Shop Operator to join and grow on our team. Ideal candidate would be an eager, self-motivated individual with previous manufacturing experience. Excellent communication and attention to detail is a must for this position. Training will be provided but previous saw operator experience is a plus! The Saw Operator is responsible for the quality of work they perform and meeting the required production rates, adhering to machine best practices, and following supervisor instructions.

Job Responsibilities:

Maintain safety requirements, wearing proper PPE Be responsible for production rate and quality of work Ability to read Cut Tickets and follow SOP instructions Learning to set up and cut material to specified lengths Operating and moving material with a forklift. Accurately and truthfully log counts and scrap Keep machine area clean and clear of debris; take ownership/pride in work area Trustworthy; Ability to work mostly independently, without constant supervision Initiative to ask questions when help is genuinely required Check and monitor machine performance / Advise supervisor of any malfunctions Team collaboration and respect of others Willingness to be cross trained on set-up and other equipment as needed Other duties as assigned Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
