The SAP Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and integration solutions across SAP and non-SAP systems. The role requires strong expertise in SAP data structures, data modeling, ETL tools, and cloud data platforms.
The ideal candidate will ensure data quality, consistency, and availability to support analytics, reporting, and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and implement data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes from SAP and non-SAP sources.
2. Work with SAP modules such as ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, and SAP Data Services (BODS).
3. Build and optimize data pipelines and architectures for analytics and reporting use cases.
4. Collaborate with functional teams, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
5. Manage data migration activities between legacy and SAP systems.
6. Ensure data governance, quality, and compliance with organizational standards.
7. Develop and maintain data models and metadata documentation.
8. Support data integration with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) or data lakes.
Required Skills & Experience
1. Strong experience in SAP Data Services (BODS), SAP HANA, BW/4HANA, or S/4HANA data models.
2. Hands-on experience with ETL tools and data integration frameworks.
3. Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and performance optimization.
4. Experience with data migration, data cleansing, and data governance.
5. Knowledge of SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT), SAP Cloud Integration (CPI), or SAP Data Intelligence is a plus.
6. Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, etc.) preferred.
7. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
